A brief history of Round Hill
Josh Gruss, a musician and pioneer in music rights investment, founded the firm in 2010 to capture the opportunity he saw in an asset class that had not yet been discovered by institutional investors.
Round Hill began to acquire rights to iconic works from The Beatles, Elvis, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Madonna and many more.
As the portfolio grew, Round Hill brought seasoned music industry operators into the business, optimizing baseline royalty collection and expanding revenues through strategic media placements and partnership deals with major brands and digital platforms.
Today, Round Hill owns and manages the rights to more than 200,000 works, with a focus on classic music that has stood the test of time.
